Just finished engine rebuild and need help on clearing air pockets from the oil lines, I have bleed the oil pump until oil drips out but not sure if this should flow instead, opened the 4 banjo connections prior to cranking engine with the oil pump lever held open but still unable to get oil to flow beyond the pump into lines, the pump was working before its removal, I'm I going about this wrong, would it be better to run the engine and hold pump lever open to get oil to flow again, also I have read in one of the forums it is recommended to run engine on a fulll tank of premix 20:1 after a rebuild, any help would be much appreciated.

Oil won't "flow". It pumps out a little with each revolution of the pump drive gear. Here's how I prime those oil lines. Block the pump lever wide open and remove spark plugs. Then remove the points cover. Use a 1/2" drill motor fitted with appropriate sized socket and extension to spin the engine in normal running direction. You'll probably only get it turning 300 to 400 rpm, but it'll be enough that you should see the oil slowly pumping into the lines - one small squirt at a time. Keep at it till the lines are full. Provided the lines are primed and the pump adjusted correctly, you don't need or want to run premix with the first tank. All that will do is make it smoke like hell and run hot. Too much oil in the gas leans the mixture. If anything, manually hold the oil pump lever wide open during the first minute or two on initial startup till you see the machine smoking noticeably. After that, it's good to go.
