Decided to try something I haven't done in 40 years, go across the fields of snow.

Got my ol' '64 "trail 55" out for some fun.

Hey, the ad shows it can be done, and still meet the nicest people!

Rizingson, you are crazy! (just like the rest of us) Nice chrome front fender on that trail 55. I bet you had a blast. I took a 76 Hondamatic for a cold ride yesterday. Why not???? And a short ride on a Yammie RT-3 the day before. Hey, where is the front fairing & fender on the bikes in the advertisement?? Just put a ski on it.

Steve, the C105T or trail 55 didn't come standard with a front fender, you had pony up some more money after you got tired of eating dirt. Honda made the fender but it was extra just like the honda logo mirrors. Also they never had leg shields, a wrap for the frame tube, or chain guard as well. They look real naked! Another feature was the overlay sprocket instead of dual sprockets, which made it even more of a pain to change.
I have the sprocket for mine as well as the chrome luggage rack that goes on top of the red rack. Honda had a lot of accesories for their trail bikes back then, like gun totes, fishing pole carriers and auxillary fuel tanks.
The "55" was the a two year model, '63-64 and the first to have upswept pipes. Just not enough power with only 3 speeds, so the CT200 "pushrod 90" replaced it in '65.
The ignition switch fell apart on mine, so had to hot wire it. I'm looking for a 3 position switch if anybody has one! Other than the seat being recovered before I got it, it's all original, including the paint.

I saw a trail 55 last year and thought parts were missing. I should have bought it. Thanks for teaching me about the trail 55. I take it that it is the same motor as the c100 c102???

Yes same pushrod motor with larger bore and shorter stroke, I believe. 54cc's vs 49cc's.
