My '72 SL100 is beginning to look its age, and I have started contemplating updating the paint job. Currently, the classic honda red has faded to a dull orange, and the gas tank doesnt match with various layers of chipped and peeling paint covering a terribly bondo job on the right side. I just rebuilt the top end, and replaced some cables and bulbs and have her running like a dream, and I'm beginning she needs a paint job to match her new lease on life. Its not a sporty bike, and I'm putting more into it than its worth, but I just can't give up on the stupid thing!

However, I'm torn between going back to the stock ruby red, or something not original, but still classic. There were photos posted a while back of a gentleman who did a two tone blue and white with chrome accents which I thought suited the bike really well. Or possibly a two tone black and red (red fenders, black frame, two tone gas tank with new Honda decals).

What have you all done when restoring a vintage bike? I am open to any and all suggestions!
