Not sure about your nomenclature - if you mean GS850L, then I can fill ya in.

Almost all positives and only one minor, well-documented, easy-to-fix negative.

When the original Suzuki GS750 8-valve motor was superceded by the later 16-valve motor, Suzuki decided to keep the 8-valver around. So, they boosted it to an 850 and added a shaft drive. It was available in two flavors - standard "G" model and cruiser "L" model.

They are strong, robust and nearly perfectly reliable. The only weakness was a poor connection in the stator windings where they came out of the engine that very often leads to stator burnout. But, the fix is easy and readily available and well documented. In addition, there is a HUGE internet forum support base at http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/index.php

As long as the specific bike YOU'RE looking at is OK, you can buy with confidence and be happy! After all, ANY bike can be abused to death by bad owners...

Good luck with it, whichever way you go.

Just my two cents.

Kirk
