Looking for a pair of these for standard cylinders. There is a set I'm watching on Ebay (don't need a whole gasket set) and there are some being offered for 1.0mm over at a good price. Does anyone know why they make different gaskets for standard vs bored cylinders? I don't see why that would make any difference as far as head gaskets. I'm likely missing something but it makes no sense to me. Thanks

Shouldn't make any difference. Possibly the seller bought them as an overhaul kit that included 1mm oversize rings and pistons, therefore he believes that the gasket is specific to the 1mm over.

I just looked at the Alpha Sports parts list w/diagrams.
They actually show two different head gaskets.
Item #3: 11141-11000 (presumably standard size)
Item #3: 11141-11700 (description states for 0.5 AND 1.0 OVER SIZES)

The standard gaskets would poke into an oversized bore and create problems, but the oversize gaskets will probably be fine for the standard bore.

Just measure the gasket bore to make sure it's larger than the cylinder bore, many standard gasket sets are capable of handling the maximum overbore the motor can handle. (at least on automobiles) If not, yes it could cause carbon buildup or hot spots if it hangs into the cylinder. Sorry I generalized. A least there are gaskets in that application to compensate.
As I was trained in automotive where the blocks' bores have a lead-in chamfer cut at the deck bore (instead of the bottom of the barrel) & that makes the diameter at deck even bigger. Still you should never allow gasket to hang over the edge into the bore & not into chamfer either. That's why many gaskets are bigger than block bore itself.
