I am looking for online parts manual to lookup and cross reference parts for a 1965 yds3 250. I am specifically interested in getting the exhaust part numbers to see if other year/ model parts will work. For some reason I cant fine parts info for the YDS3, the only models that show up on most internet sites are YG1k / YJ1K / YJ2S...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try cmsnl.com they got the parts fiche for that model. As for parts what exactly do you need help for. We have quite a few people here who are experts with that model.

Well I spent part of last evening and early this morning looking for online manual sources of YDS3.
That a tough one. Couldn't find any.
CMSNL has no listing for YDS3. At least I couldn't find a listing. They do list YDS5, no YDS3.
Neither do Speed & Sport, or Yamaha Motor.

However, there are hard copy manuals available. IMO there nothing quite like having a print copy in your hands.
If you get a hard copy, especially a loose leaf copy, it could always be converted to a pdf file

I would also inquire of Andrew Lawton @ Speed and Sport. yamdrew [at] speedandsportinc [dot] com
They have lots of reprint manuals of old Yams.....although I don't see YDS3 listed.
S & S have great people and a worldwide network of contacts. If anyone can help, they can.
They have a pretty decent inventory of YDS3 parts too.
Do a search and enter either the model number, YDS3, or the prefix number 156.

Also there's a good number of parts on eBay: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=yamaha+yds3

It's odd how some of the early manuals seem to be easy to get and others you won't find listed.
Here's a couple of other links to YDS3 info:
