Should I be putting something in my fuel tank when I fill up? I have a '72 SL100 and as I recall, we still used leaded fuel at that time? I've heard of people putting something in the tank to help with this, but I don't know what it is/what it's called?
thanks!

It is called leaded fuel. There are hundreds if not thousands of lead replacements that are said to do the job, but the truth is that it is not the same as lead. I am not sure of the legalities of this in your country, but I have heard of some guys getting a hold of leaded racing fuel and mixing it with regular unleaded gas. Here in the United States this practice is illegal. What a lot of choose to do is to replace all our valves, seats, etc. with stainless steel ones. Right now we have to deal with the alchol in the fuel issue which does murder to our fuel lines, etc.
