Good to see someone who likes the kz200, whilst working as an expat in Indonesia, I owned 2 of them ('80 and '83), used them to commute daily, was part of a bunch of guys who had the same bikes. Biking is huge in Indonesia, even saw some of the bigger stuff (KZ1000)...
So here I am today, had to get hold of a kwak, so currently in project I'm working on a Z1100 '83 Shaft
Have been hunting for a z200, saw a couple which need some heavy TLC

I can tell you all about a Club in Bogor that could be a potential addition to your website. I also have an also picture of the 'Merzy' emblem, which I wish I had bought back with me...
In fact, when I left, the guys in the club bought me a Black T-shirt - which read (God have Merzy - Bogor Merzy Club)
Still got it, will defo frame that and have it hang in the garage ))

The Kawasaki KZ200 was really a wonderful little bike for its time. Although it was not very popular in the United States in its day. It has been deemed a favorite amongst motorcycle collectors. As for me, personally I can not wait for it to be admitted to the AMCA for judgeing.

Welcome to the US of A and the greatest forum for all vintage jap bikes on the internet. Nice sire, I would suggest a full side view picture of the little KZ200 to help people see what they look like. I had a blue 1978 with just 632 miles on it. Sweet running, reliable engine for sure. I loved it and rode it at many vintage events. I took it to Bike week in Daytona and my brother moved the chain to my big bike. Well I took off and dragged the prestine KZ200 with me. Put a big dent in the tank and it was never the same. I sold it because people always asked about the dent and I didn't want to tell them I was stupid. GONe but I miss it. Only thing was it did not go fast enough top end, 55-60 was it and some Honda 175's left me in the dust. Good luck with the site. _________________ You only go around once in life, but if you do it right, once is enough!

I have a real soft spot for the KZ200's.
In 1991, I was 26, had been married for ~2 years and had a newborn son and I came across a title-less KZ200 at a neighborhood church community sale for $25. Not running & cosmetically rough.
I bought it and even managed to get a title for it. I stripped it down to the bare frame and cleaned, shined or painted everything as it went back together. I never did have to go into the motor, just did a carb clean and replaced the points.
It was the very first of over 40 such projects over the years! Some more involved, some less, but all projects.
That first year, I rode it, along with my Dad on his bike, from West Palm Beach to Daytona (~200 miles) for one day of Bike Week. That was the first time I had been on that long of a ride, and the first time I had ever been to a gathering such as Bike Week.
So, yeah, a lot of very fond memories I have tied to that little KZ. I sold it to my older brother, and he still has it.
