| Interesting -- I just finished reading my latest Motorcycle Classics Magazine (March/April 2011) issue, which has a spread on the 1967 CP450. It's a good article, with some nice pics of a well restored CP450 in pristine condition. Good write-up on the siren too. |

One of the things I love about this site is that there are no self-styled forum "admins" who jump on every post. All the regulars seem like nice blokes who are just interested in talking about old motorcycles. No agendas, no point-scoring, no "I'm important because I have 1000 posts", in short no BS.
James, I see nothing at all wrong with your post. It's quite obvious you weren't trying to start an auction. Its was a simple heads-up on a rare and unusual item. When I saw the post heading I dived straight in to check it out. I think a 1967 Tokyo Police Siren is one of the coolest things I could ever hope to own!
Fasterspider has a reputation of being a wanker. He has been shunted from other sites for this type of meglomanaic behaviour. James - just ignore him.
BTW...You will NOT "be contacted by the administrator"..and he will NOT "deal with you"!!! - That was just a Fasterspider drunk, stupid threat with nothing to back it up..

fasterspider was most definately asked by Glen of cb1100f.net not to come back to his site, no great loss there, they have enough ego without mine.
Oh yes, I wrote to Dkrager {VJMOG.com owner/operator/webmaster} explaining to him there are people on his site blowing his rules out of the water and trying to turn VJMOG.com into ebay.
See, I have been here since day 1 and I know the rules.
I am not a wanker but, I am an all out anal retentive scumbag that does not like it when people come to this site, not read the rules and regulations before they start posting items for sale with no price next to it.
Look and you will find that it is in fact against the rules to post a "for sale" item on this site with no price.
If this was done properly, dude would have gotten a fine welcome and I may have actually popped for the siren just because it is a trick item to have.

No it is not Ray,
The "This is not EBay" rule is in effect over at CBX World because of strong member feedback on the subject. That was not my decision it was the members.
Here at VJMOG it has never been a problem so heads up on EBay listings are welcome if the members are cool with it. If not, let’s get a consensus going and we could build site policy from there.

I have no problem with this guy's post...........sorry, Ray.
But I do think it was out of line to call Ray a "wanker" - save that crap for PM or email.

fwiw most sites have a post count / minimum time ( 30 days ?) before new members are allowed to post for sale ads..(along w a stated price )
it keeps the forums clear of ads from ppl using it like craigslist / ebay..join-sell-disappear |
