......to all my friends here at VJMOG. I hope Santa brings you all the little bits and pieces that you need to complete that special project. But most of all, enjoy your holiday, family and friends.

.............Paul

We are here visiting family and friends. (My wife Monika is Swiss)

We try to come over every year since my wife’s parents are in their mid 80's and not exactly getting any younger.

Can’t complain I can think of worse places to slum it over the holidays. Oh yea, great place if you are a knife collector. This year I scored the uber rare Victorinox battle knife set with VERY low numbers which I could flip in the states for a couple of grand if I was looking for a quick sale.

Cheers,

Dave

I’ve been after that set for several years now. Does the red one look familiar? It's the Oath of Rutli knife that I sent you last year. Cool Thumbsup

Quote:
The Oath of Rutli is special collector's 91mm Swiss Army Knife from Victorinox that commemorates the historic oath of the Swiss Confederacy at Rutli in 1291 (Rutlischwur). This model was released in 1991, it was the seventh, and last, member of the Swiss Battle Series that comemorates the alliances and the battles that gave birth to the nation of Switzerland.

The tool configuration resembles the Mechanic, but with a corkscrew instead of a Phillips on the back. The tweezers were omitted on all of the "Battle" knives to allow the entire scale to be used for the battle scene inlay. The Oath of Rutli also omits the toothpick. This is the only member of the Battle Series to use red Cellidor scales, and to come packaged in a red wooden box.
