Hi everyone!

I just got myself a B100P project bike, I think it is a 1965 model, but I'm not sure.

I've not done this sort of thing before but am looking forward to getting into it.

mchalmers welcome to VJMOG. Looks like you have a fun little project. You should be able to obtain the parts necessary for it. I'm surprised it still has the carb covers!! Anyway be careful that one project doesn't turn into 30 or 40 projects like some of us here that have the sickness.

Are those carb covers rare? My B105P Bearcat project has them too.

Carb covers and full enclosed chain guards are always a tough to find for your projects, mainly due to the fact that they're not needed to ride. Once the owner adjusts his carb or chain than test riding and rechecking, the covers are long forgotten and usually lost. I've been unable to find carb covers for my B105P and have been looking a long time for chain guards for my Yamaha YJ-2. Probably will never find. Another part that's easy to over look and sometimes hard to find are rear mudflaps.

As a matter of fact, I am missing the rear mud flap. Know of anyone that has one? Need not be perfect.

Missing mudflap, not surprised! On another post I mentioned that the first thing I do when I get a new to me bike home is put it on the lift and sit and look at it for missing parts that I hadn't noticed when I purchased it. You would be surprised at what you find gone. I'm trying to find an original mudflap for my Yamaha YL-1. Found some that were too damaged and even one that had holes punched through it. The owner said his dog chased him evertime he rode it and would grab hold of the mudflap with his teeth when he could catch up. I thought maybe he needed a faster bike!!

If you want to date your bike, there should be a small name plate on the left side where the side cover should be. It will have model desgination and date of production. If I get sometime this weekend I will show you a picture of it. The B100P was made all the way up to '68.

that would be the high performance factory dealer option only on every one of 10,000 bikes produced.... Bling it made an AWESOME 35% increase in HP with NO JETTING NEEDED!!!! oh yeah, it was ONLY available in Alabama, Georgia and West Virginia. :rocker:

I know its very geeky of me, but I've created a blog for my bike restoration project. It's also so I can keep track of when I do what and look back at it later on.
