Okay, so I lied... THIS is the final post for the evening...
All bulbs currently illuminate according to their function. The turn indicators - front and rear are not currently flashing. I did some searching and ran across the suggestion that the relay draws enough current that I'd need to have the engine running to get the indicators flashing. Is this really the case or do I have a problem with my relay?
Thanks,
U-Turn |

U-Turn | If the battery is weak, the signals might flash very slowly or not at all. It's also possible that the PO installed random bulb replacements using 1156 bulbs. Those draw too much power. Go to any Jap bike shop and get 4 new Stanley turn signal bulbs. They're 21 watt.

| You may (probably) also need to replace the flasher. You can order the one from Honda that superceded the original round one. Although the new one is rectangular, it will fit into the rubber holder if you carefully stretch it out a bit. A lot of people just go to an autoparts store and get a 12V car flasher, which is cheaper. The flasher is located directly behind your ignition switch. |

huh? the flasher is located behind the ignition switch? the flasher relay? noooo...
It's located right behind the battery box underneath the seat.
It's a little rectangular metal box, it should say "flasher relay" on it. It's a little bigger than about half the size of your thumb.
Google "honda cl350 flasher relay" if you need a visual.
I've never had an issue with a relay drawing too much power. The way the relay works is that inside the box is a piece of metal slightly bent that straightens out when a surge of electricity is ran through it--or is it the other way around? I forget.
The only issue i've ever had is that they can blink too slow. This is due to old age and plenty of use, it doesn't bend as well anymore. These things are pretty simple, you can open them up and bend them slightly by hand to get them blinking/bending a bit better. Keep them plugged in with a a signal light turned on---then turn it off so you can see how to adjust the bend accordingly.
I don't see how that could be an issue. It could be your lights in general are too much for the battery to handle. When is the last time you charged it? How long have you had it-- it may be time to get a new one? |

Google "honda cl350 flasher relay" if you need a visual. | The correct flasher for that bike is round, and it's located just inboard of the ignition switch. I can post a picture, if you need a visual.

I think I solved my turn signal problem. Anybody need 4 1156 bulbs?
Thanks Bikegeezer!

Oh really? I have a couple 350s that have it all in the same spot, and even a 100 as well. That's weird, good to know. You learn something new everyday. |
