Name is Steve, i just got back into motorcycles early summer. I trail/woods ride on a 96' XR250 but really started looking at the vintage street bikes and since the sickness has started. Here are some pics of the bikes I currently have. Hope to meet some locals and make some friends on here as i have on the sohc and 305 forums.

My 1st vintage purchase was this 1969 (says the title) Honda Dream 305 that has been restored and sat in the Sloan Museum for the last few years. The PO had done a restore but had done a couple custom things to it, subtle but not right. Still a great looking machine and I think i will keep for awhile. I redid the seat myself, fixed 3 electrical probs and rode it all summer when the weather was good

Next is a 71 CL175 I payed too much for but got it running, I need to paint the side covers back original and need a "175" badge and both heat shields for her to be where i want it. GREAT running bike, and is a lot of fun to run around town.

The one ive done the most to is this 1974 CB550. I redid the seat (horribly), installed new coils, wires, and Dyna S Ignition, still figuring out my best carb setting for pods and the 4-1 but its very very close. Not original, not cafe, but how i like it and still need decals. Its a great runner and plenty fast for me thats for sure.

And my latest find was this 1972 CB750 for $250. I plan on a full restore but ive only found the correct seat (original) and need a lot more, including left and right switches, prob a full wiring harness, full front brake assembly, badgess, emblems etc.... but should be a fun winter project. Most importantly i got it running great.

heres the seat i found for $85 for it. Its an original non restored seat off a 72 i believe. i hope Razz

heres a link of all the bikes ive owned this summer and fixed up and sold or kept.

Hi Tango911, and welcome to the forum.

I tried to respond to your PM, but my messages don't seem to get from the out box to the sent box. I sent email to the admin to see why. Anyway, here's what I tried to send you in response.

Mine is a CL350. There are a lot of similarities with the 175. You can see some before / after pictures of my bike here: http://www.vjmog.com/ftopict-6711.html

I just passed up a chance to get another CL350 exactly like it from just a bit northwest of you (Merrillville IN). A guy had it as a for sale ad on eBay for $400, but was open to lesser offers. It appeared to be all complete, but non-running. The paint looked like it would be better than mine, given a wash job. I should have bought it, because a complete exhaust system alone is going for $220 and up, but I'm sort of out of space. It sold last night.

I saw your post earlier and meant to say hello, but got sidetracked. When I saw your pictures, I thought to myself -- either this guy is single, or his wife is very sympathetic to his ideas. If my wife wasn't here to rein me in, it's hard telling how many bikes I would have.

A word of advice on your recently acquired heat shields: use loctite when you put them on. Also, on the front shield, it would be a good idea to use longer bolts and add some locknuts where the bolts stick through the mounting points on the exhaust pipe. I lost the front heat shield off my bike in the first 100 miles I rode it, and didn't even know it came off. I retraced everywhere I had been, but could not find it. It took a couple weeks to get a replacement off eBay.

Tango, I love that Honda Dream. I see you're in Brownsburg. I work in Brownsburg, so maybe I'll see your bikes around this Spring.
