That is a big fear of mine on these freeways in L.A. and I have been lucky enough to avoid the big things in the road for the most part that have fallen off of trucks.
I have been hit by a bird and a piece of tire tread from a tractor trailer.

my dads best friend was hurt bad a couple years ago, he was doing about 80 on a hiway running a old police h-d that he just picked up not to long before that and he was behind a truck and a 2x4 came outthe back and he hit it, went down hard and was lucky enough no one hit him because it was rush hour. And if you want to talk about unlucky a little over a year later the same guy was running down a back road with another old police h-d and a deer jumped out and landed on him and he went into a ditch. That time they almost took his leg. Hes had alot of bad accidents over the year but hey he lived through all of them with no serious perment injurys
