I heard that the clutch push rod seal was the same size as the lower seal on the oil injection pump. My problem is I can find the part number for the clutch pushrod seal in any of the online parts fiche.

Can someone help me with a part number for this seal so I can check for availability?

Thanks

Are you saying the black seal on that pushrod will work as a lower seal for the oil injection pump? It sure looks awful big.

I said it is suppose to be the seal that I have also have heard is suppose to work. I have not personally tried it but give me a half hour or so and I will dig out and check a spare tach/oil pump gear, oil pump and a spare push pc I have to doublecheck.

Oh...No.... No....the seal is set ( recessed) inside the clutch cover....the push piece is all metal.....no seal on it. One end of it goes into the seal recessed into the clutch cover.

I'll wait until you take a look to see if that seal will work on the bottom of the oil injection pump. I think we might be talking about two different things. Smile

thanks for working with me on this though.

I will look for another ten minutes for my spare clutch assembly that should have a push pc. with it but I think we are talking about the same thing as discussed on another site by others.

Found my spare clutch assembly and push piece quite awhile ago, nicely wrapped and packed away. Then I could not find my spare oil pumps. Gave up. Just after I finished re-wrapping and packing away the clutch in an out of the way place....yep...found the pumps. Got the clutch assembly back out and the push piece end that sticks outside the clutch pressure plate has the same diameter as the oil pump shaft where the bottom pump seal rides. Can't help you on the O.D. of the $2.00 seal in question...but there are no other clutch related seals except for the one clutch push rod seal on the other side of the engine that you already know about. As I think you know upper pump seals have been found by giving the number on the seal to various bearing/seal outfits but people have been having trouble locating the bottom pump seal by this method if I remember correctly, Then there is that aftermarket 'oil pump seal' kit I think you already know about floating around ebay from time to time.

Thanks again Dor. I think the seal I was told about was the one on the other side of the engine. That's the one I was originally referencing and the one I can not find the part number to. I'm not about to ask you to look that one up. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the kit that I've seen on eBay and call it a night. I suppose you can't have to many of the crush washers and an extra top seal won't hurt to have around. I've already replaced the top seal with one that I found at my local bearing supply store but they couldn't find the bottom one.

Thanks again for the time spent helping me out on this, it's appreciated.

Ref. # 9 on the clutch page is the only other clutch related seal I know of and that thing is at least an inch in diameter. Anyway....I know you will get the job done. Good luck

Great picture and one that I'll save for future reference. I'm sure it's not the seal on that side either now that I see it. Sounds like I might have been given some bad info. Like all my projects, I'll plod along and figure something out.

.......... The bottom seal in the oil pump is the same one that sets in the right case cover and supports the clutch Push piece/push rod. part #09284-10002.

Suzuki didnt rebuild the oil pump it was a replacement part so the parts arent in a break down. I went to a bearing place and they helped me pick out a replacement for the upper seal. this is the one we normally find that leaks, more than likely the lower one also starts leaking but it drips in to the tranny and we dont figure it out??

I finally found a pic on ebay of the seal ? in question Correct O.D.? Regular type lipped seal? I have glanced at this before when I have had T500 motor apart but never really taken a close look at it. At those times I thought it was just more of a grommet type piece....but now with new info it does at least appear that it could be the same seal used on the bottom of the oil pump. Click on to enlarge pic. Pump pic is not mine.
