Hey folks just wanted to give you a heads up on the site downtime today.

Apparently as a special birthday present someone hacked the VJMOG FTP account and modified about 150+ files with links to malware. I intentionally took the site offline in order to change site passwords and clean the mess up.
As far as I can tell things are clean as a whistle now.

Thanks for your patience.

Dave

No prob guys. Turbo Billy gets credit for tipping me off to the situation.

Hey if you all could do me a favor, just sort of keep a lookout for the next few days and if you see anything even remotely funky going on around the site let me know about it via email. Site security is a real hot button issue with me so you will have my undivided attention.

Thank You,

Dave

Bout to hit the road for a couple more weeks, but will keep an eye out here and there when I'm on.

Is the site hosted on a MS based server by chance? If it's apache by chance, there's some good monitoring sql stuff and even a few that will revert automatically if password isn't used to change c codes.

Either way, thanks for keepin a great site and keepin it clean.

Frank

We are on a Dedicated dual 5160 server with 6 Gigs of RAM and a pair of Raptor drives running CentOS 5 X64 that I built and collocate out of Dallas. There is only 2 sites that run on it. VJMOG and CBX World.

I work with MS stuff all day long but It wouldnt be my first choice for a web or SQL server.

Have a good trip.

Cheers,

Dave

A well deserved thank you is in order.

I had actually gotten alerts from my anti-virus, so I came to the site from my Linux computer and all seemed fine. I just chalked it up to an overzealous antivirus program.

Glad to see it straightened out though!

No prob guys,

Steve I had not seen that post.

I’m inclined to say no since I don’t take kindly to people that don’t even post on VJMOG trying to tell me how to run the board. You do it once and they will be right back whining again about the next little thing they don’t like. The end result is the same. They still walk around all pissed off all the time no matter what you do.

But I will talk to you after work about this.

Thanks,

Dave
