A young biker, barely 17 years old, got a flat tire late at night just about a mile outside an old gas station on the edge of a state forest.
after pushing his old honda 450 "black bomber" for what seemed forever, arrived at the station and promptly collapsed in the dusty parking lot.
After not more than 5 minutes rest, it began to rain.
"someone is always pissin' on my parade" the kid said.
just then he noticed a dim light on in the old station.
so he looked in the window and saw an old biker sitting by a wood stove, working on an ancient linkert carb.
the kid banged on the door and the old biker bid him to enter.
the old biker said"sit by the fire kid, take a load off"
the kid sat and before he could say anything, the old biker said,
"that is one hell of a bike you got there, honda outdid them selves when the built that one"
the kid said"how do you know what i ride, you never looked out the window and i didn't tell you"
" i don't go around tellin' every one what i ride cause you harley guys give me buckets of s#it cause it's "jap crap"
the old biker said"just because it's jap don't mean it's crap."
at that moment the kid noticed that the old biker didn't look as old as he first thought, and even maybe a little bit familar too.
then the old biker told him of a new honda "jap" motorcycle that would be like nothing ever seen before, 4 cylinders and as fast and smooth as the best bikes built now, but much more reliable, and faster than any other 1000 cc bike built before it.
the kid asked to be told more.
"it will have a flat engine like a porsche, shaft drive and you will sit on the gas tank"
"get the f@ck out a here!!" the kid said.
"when is this new bike coming out?" the kid asked
1974..said the old biker
"how the hell would know this, it's only 1973"
" i have ridden one" the old biker mumbled.
thinkin the old biker had been in the acid again, he asked if he could use some tool to fix his tire.
the old biker pointed to the workbench and said go ahead.
the kid went to work on the tire and had it fixed in jig time.
as he was puttin' it on the 450, the old biker gave him a card to put in his pocket and said "look me up sometime, i don't got a problem with jap bikes, then went outside.
the kid put the card in his pocket, started the bike, and went to thank the old biker, but could not find him anywhere.
when I got home that night and emptied my pockets, i found the card.
"good, i'll bring the old guy a 6pack for letting me use the tools"
when i looked at the card , it said..."RESURRECTIONMOTORS"
OLD BIKES BOUGHT AND SOLD
ask for big T.
and i wondered if i would ever see the old guy again?

Not a bad story. How bout this one...A blond browsing a store noticed an item on a shelf and asked the store keeper what it was. The keeper informed her that it was a thermos. The blond asked the keeper what a thermos does, to which he replied that it kept hot things hot and cold things cold. The blond was amazed and bought the thermos. When the blond arrived home, her blonde roomate noticed her package and asked what it was. She informed her that it was a thermos and that it was designed to keep hot things hot and cold things cold. Her roomate was amazed and asked her what she had in the thermos....she replied "2 cups of coffee and a popsicle"

Yeah...ok, it sucks. But at least it wasnt an advertisement.

Here's a true story for you.

Mr. Honda was retired when the GL1000 was being developed. But, he liked to keep up with what was going on in his company. One day he was at the track during prototype testing. Pulled a stint on the bike and gave it his personal blessing. I don't think any other CEO would do that.

Higganum? We must go riding one of these days. BTW, nice story.

Reminds me of the old shop in my old town, mostly if not all H-D guys, they really didn't care what you ride though, as long as you do most of the work yourself and you get out there and ride it, matter in fact I got my CB from a guy from there, but he didn't see the need to have a 6th bike haha
