Buy this one as a spare, and surprise someone when they are in a real bind! I usually buy when I find a deal, and reap the benefits later. If you wait until you need it, it can't be found! I bought an oil tank for a T200 last month--don't need it, but wasn't going to let it go for $5.00. Now, it's in "the stack" Danny Mac.

I can't believe it stayed on their that long. I would have bought it...willing to gamble that it was truly new and I don't even have that bike but I have other things on my agenda also. You gotta draw the line somewhere (hhmmm....how many times have I said that to myself?) I would not feel bad about paying what you did for that NOS pump of yours. Doug, I know you and I have bought used ones....knowing going in it was a gamble. If I bought three or four used pumps... maybe only one of them would work properly and I am not talking about just seals (that on the T500 pump is not a big problem to fix) There are other issues and I think that interior horizontal shaft and it's 'wall' get worn and cause too much volume of oil to enter the shafts port. Idunno Seems like random used oil pumps can have there own individual issues going on. The installation many miles ago of a good one from the used group stopped the T500 from smoking so much. Keep going and don't look back Wink ......one might not like what they see. (like a cost log) Wink

Yes, I have bought 2 used ones after strippning out the bleeder hole on the original by trying to get it loose. (It is LEFT HAND thread as I think you mentioned earlier). No strange marks or anything that I could see told me that nor did it say so in either book I have. Anyway, neither of the used ones would pump to the left cylinder even after changing the check valves. Someone more knowledgable than me showed me how to seal the original pump with torch and high strength threadlock but wasn't really comfy with that. When I saw the NOS one, I jumped on it bigtime! It is truly NOS in the original box but was spendy compared to the one that was just on there.
I hope the cops are leaving you alone down there now that you're not smoking so bad! LOL! Doug
