Could be an adustment, could be a worn pump, could be burning tranny oil, crank seals bad? Not sure right off the bat about the oil circuit. Watch your tranny oil level. Hope this helps a little. Disregard drawing #9....that is for a T125. Good luck. Missing Step #1 is just taking off the cover.

could be rotten two stroke oil
could be rotten two stroke oil and a tank of pre mixed gas combined
could be regular engine oil in the injector tank

Congrats on your new project. I also have a 1973 GT185 (first year) low mileage bike. Its a fun little bike to ride.
Suzuki's with Posi-force or CCI injection systems cannot be ran on pre-mix alone. The Gt185 have four lines discharging from the oil pump, two to the cylinders and two to the crankshaft bearings. You will destroy your crank in short order if you don't use the pump.
These pumps are very reliable and rarely fail. Most oiling problems leading to engine damage occur due to running the oil tank empty and then failing to properly prime the lines after refilling, or a bad check valve or leaks at one of the banjo bolts. Good luck on your bike.
