Hello VJMC,
I'm new here....and in the middle of restoring a CB500K2 (my Dad's bike, and the one I learned to ride on 30-some years back!).
I'm hoping to find anyone else who has dealt with Cool Retro Bikes in Florida, recently. I sent them the seat from my Honda months for vinyl repair and recovering, and I've been unable to reach anyone there since. No responses to voice mail or email.
Does anyone know what might be going on with this outfit? Any suggestions on how to reach them? At this point, all I want is my seat back, repaired or not!

Vendors who don't perform should be called out.

I know that something put Mr. Bash in hospital, and last word I had (5 months ago) from his email return was that although business was on hold, he'd be back....nothing real serious apparently.
So, something happened there, not good....but after so long, at least something besides no responses to email or phone. I'm not out to get the guy, just want that seat back.

If he is in the hospital, it has to be serious.
Because, we called daily back around
October 21, almost 8 weeks ago, with
no answer. Finally just gave up.
8 WEEKS in the hospital? It is major
for sure.
We just picked up our Grandmother from
a hospital stay, for a heart valve replacement.
She was only in 4 days. If you have a baby
nowadays your out in 2 days!

All is well again!
TD Bash, the proprietor, called me tonight, very apologetic about lack of communication. As I'd guessed, his world has been full of snags and difficulties in the last several months....he hasn't flaked or run off or disappeared.

I am completely done with a restoration of a '71 Honda SL350K1 except my seat! I sent it to CRB OVER 2 YEARS AGO!!!!! And they never return calls or emails except to put me off again. DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR SEAT. My guess is that they've already restored my seat and resold it. I have a complaint in with the Better Business Bureau. I highly recommend taking any links to CRB off this site. [b]

Add me to the growing list. I sent TD Bash a cashiers check for a seat that was claimed to be in stock. Cashiers check was cashed but I have not received the seat. Its been about 4 months. I have left 30 phone messages. Many times I have called but the message machine was not accepting any more messages. I have also sent at least 30 emails.
I certainly have some compassion for any problems the guy is experiencing but I had no trouble getting him to call me back before he received my payment. Now that he has had my money for a few months is seems impossible to get him to return a call or an email.

A long time ago and this is like 5 years ago I was told to stay away from this guy. Because he is a one man operation, and he had some health problems. It seems that things have gotten worse. My suggestion would be if you need to have a seat restored, go to one of the restorers that the AMCA memebers use.

Stay away from this company. Owner TD Bash seems to answer phone calls only from new customers/victims, and once he got the money, he will disappear. When he picked up the phone, he would pretend to be someone else, or gave excuses. I have heard: hospitalized, fire in sister's house, bitten by a dog, got a stroke.
I sent him two motorcycle seats about 4 years ago. The one with three rips came back 18 months later with one rip still there. The other one never came back, and although I sent him an email, asking him to send it back to me regardless the state, he never responded.
