Changed the oil and adjusted the valves & cam chain today because I took her to the Rock Store on Sunday and she was making a lot of noise by the time I got home. Now she is purring like a kitten and I am smiling ear to ear when I ride her.

Hey Ray, are you very happy with the pamco ignition? I have been faffing around with the points on my 350 for a week now and I'm getting a little frustrated, one side of me wants to keep the bike mechanical ignition and the other side just wants to ride the damn thing, any thoughts? I had it running this weekend but not very well, then i adjusted the points following the clymer manual and it wouldn't start after that, now the battery has died...Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Why would you want to keep an inferior ignition system in the bike if you can install an electronic ignition system.
I ride my Scrambler almost every day of the week now and after adjusting the valves and cam chain again, she sounds & runs great.

2 reasons, 1st is price, I can get a new set of points for $40 while an electronic ignition is over $100, the 2nd reason is that antiquated/obsolete technology has always really appealed to me, when the world ending EMP hits your bike it won't be able to scramble over sh*t! (not to be taken seriously! Smile ) Great pic btw!

When that EMP hits, the uber mega gargantuan blast will be following it immediately and a motorcycle is not going to help a bit. Shocked
Buy the Pamco to use until the points is all that will work. Wink

I'll tell you what Ray, I am a points master now! They came in on friday and after a few reads of the clymers manual I installed em and it started right up! With the $ I saved I recycled a leather jacket into a helmet Smile http://spamosyamamoto.com/archives/492Spamos Yamamoto

I can't take the shitty carbs on my Scrambler anymore so I just ordered these and will go pick them up from Sudco tomorrow.

And I may even get a pair of them for my 450 too.

I miss my little CL350 with her sitting in the back of the garage being ignored & neglected so I took her pipes off to get the carbs out and now have the Mikunis mounted up but, the throttle cables have to be fitted proper and I have never put these things together before.
Going to ask a friend for some assistance and try to get this baby running today.

So, the next saga begins using Mikunis and pods - and chasing jetting changes till you're ready to hang yourself. Twisted Evil
