Hi,
I am in the process of restoring a 1974 Honda CL125 S1 Scrambler (single cylinder). I bought it in 'already excellent condition', it just needs a little maintenance from sitting for years.
After I removed the carb bowl and cleaned it out, I tried putting it back on slightly crooked (oops), and I am positive I bent the float out of adjustment (because now it won't start)
I can add a few drops of gasoline in the carb throat and it will start for a few seconds. But without adding the gas manually, it won't run. Plus, when I hook up the fuel line from the tank, and turn on the gas valve, not much fuel goes down the line. The fuel line's mostly full of air.
The float setting for my carburetor is .95", but I don't know what this means anymore. It's been decades since I set a float on a carb, and have forgotten how.
Would someone be kind enough to give me the detailed instructions on how to set the carb float?
