I got her running the other day but, the timing was out of whack so I said "Fuck it, you're getting a Pamco on Monday so wait for it." which I did and the Pamco showed up today for me to spend a little time installing it.
The bike fired right off if only on one cylinder but, as soon as I got fuel to the other bowl she was hitting on both.
A slight movement of the plate to time her and she is running great, I am extremely happy with this new electronic ignition from Pamco Pete. _________________ Ray #1

I fired up and timed my Scrambler with a timing light today then rode her down the street but, now I have to properly sync the carbs with my Morgan CarbTune. I think I am going to pull the carbs and clean them again before I sync them though, something just doesn't seem right with them and it might be mung clogging up some passages inside as they sat there on my tool box for over a month with fuel residue in them.
She idles good as soon as she fires up before I rev it but, then after revving her up a little bit the idle fluxuates annoyingly before she settles back down to a normal low rpm idle.
I wish I had an ultrasonic cleaner, that would make me 100% sure the carbs were fully & properly clean.
Yesterday I spent about 2 hours cleaning & polishing the front wheel, hub and fork sliders.
It came out looking good and next is the rear wheel hub but, not the rim because it really needs to be replaced since it is so ugly from what I think is battery acid damage. _________________ Ray #1

I just got home from the maiden voyage to the gas station & parts place for some more oil on my Scrambler, she is running pretty damned good and I am smiling ear to ear. _________________ Ray #1

Are you smiling enough to think about keeping her now? |

No, I need the money because we are buying a house and most every dime I can raise is going toward the down payment.
Besides, I have a CBX and a VFR1200F.
Not to mention that I am building another custom CBX and already have the 0 mile engine. _________________ Ray #1

I figured out what was wrong with the low to mid range on that little 350 of mine yesterday when I took the Pamco ignition out and inspected the advance unit to find these little pieces of some un-recognizable plastic that was stuck under the springs somehow.
They are about 12mm long and 5mm wide.
Anyway, I took her for a good little ride yesterday and she performed as expected. She is too small to carry my 215lb whiteboy ass around.
I am not looking forward to the day she rides out of here under someone else but, I will be happy the day she does go to a shrimpy 125-140lb light weight that will not abuse her like I would if I kept her. _________________ Ray #1

My 350 is now running me around town full time again because my VFR1200F's battery died and I will not use my CBX for local parts chasing.
She is running better & better every day but, she should really run bitchin' when I put some new carbs on her.
Today after a fun little 25 miles of riding around town chasing parts like the YB14L-A2 strapped to the rack.

I said, "most every dime" but, I did not say every dime. _________________ Ray #1

The battery is for a customer's bike, he said wet cell, I bought wet cell.
Besides, I use Deca AGM batteries in the ETX15L variety which are the superior AGM equivilent to the YB14L-A2 lame duck wet cell that is going to fail in 18 months or less, guaranteed. _________________ Ray #1
