I have a 75 GT185 it runs great but I just read that they are 5 speed and mine only allows me to shift through 4 gears any ideas why?

I review of the parts breakdown shows that this bike did have a 5 speed. Sounds like a broken gear, shift fork or other internal part.

If you're not well familiar with these, I'd have a competent mechanic do the work. Splitting the case and delicate transmission work requires special tools and experience. Too easy to wreck something. Parts are hard to find, but Ebay and the Zedder program can help.
