There is another vintage bike event in Michigan on the
same weekend as the Gilmore Museum Vintage weekend - June 12.

It's in Oscoda and they claim that "The VJMC will have a large area set up for showing bikes."

Too bad they chose the same weekend ....

I have been in contact with Bill Melvin regarding this event (Melvin Museum Grand Opening) but will be unable to attend due to the Gilmore Motorcycle show conflict. I am really not sure who from the club I represent will be going. Yes, it is sad as this sounds like it could be fun. Bill has a nice collection of bikes and memorabilia. I will never forget when he showed me blueprints on paper from the Indian plant circa 1920's. WOW! HE has a Superior Brogham or something like that. Many vintage Hondas, etc.

Thanks for the note Carl.

FYI - A group of VJMC guys are meeting in Frankenmuth
on the Saturday of the event in Oscoda, (June 11th)
at 9:30 am.

They are then heading to the Oscoda event, an hour and a half
north on I-75. Carl says they have done Gilmore for years
and want to see something different this year.

There are rooms available for those who want
to spend Saturday night at the - AmericInn Oscoda,
720 Harbor St, Oscoda, MI 48750

Thanks for helping coordinate this smi. I will be riding the vintage ride on sat. at Gilmore so I am inviting all vintage motorcyclists to join us for a great vintage ride. Meet and leave Gilmore at 10 Am for a 70 mile ride. Let's get the vintage Jap machinery out and represent.

He has the blueprints of the Indian powerplant from the 20's? I am very glad to see that not everything ended up at the museum. Honestly, I wish I was in Michigan that weekend because I would be going to that event. Looks like it is time for me to plan a ride in New England for Vintage Japanese Motorcycles. Just wish I had more time.
