Hi
I am trying to replace the oil seals on my cb350's front forks. I have the forks off the bike and apart but can't not remove the chrome trim ring that surrounds the oil seal. I think it is pressed on from the factory. Has anyone been able to remove this without damaging it? I can't get a good grab on the seal with this in the way. Is there a tool that would make this easier? Any suggestions?

I slowly tapped those "rings" off of a customer's CB175 forks with a mallot and a large regular {flat blade} screwdriver.
It took a long time but, I did it without screwing up the edges.
They are kind of spot pressed into position and it is a big PITA to get them off but, they do come off.

I think you give them a twist, then pull straight up.
There's a little "dimple" that locks into a small groove on the fork, as I recall..... _________________ Bill Lane - CB200-CM200-CB450-C70M-CL350

Got them off. I did the tapping trick and they came off. I had to hit it harder that I thought. Maybe that's why I couldn't get them off before. thanks
