I'm new to this forum, I ride a 2002 kawasaki drifter. Just bought a 83 suzukimatic for my wife, the bike is in good shape and runs well but has been sitting and need to be gone through to make a safe bike for my wife. The first thing I need is a manual and none of the one I've seen list the automatic. Does anyone know which manual has this information in it, either clymers or factory. Thanks

Welcome to VJMOG. I'm not sure, but I would doubt if Clymer has a manual for the automatic, but you could probably get information on the rest of the bike- suspension, brakes, lighting, carbs from the 450 manual. You have rare bird there, so I think you're going to have to do some digging to get what you need. I've not seen many of them around. Do you have a pictures of it?

By the way, is the Drifter an 800 or a 1500?

...............Paul

Now that is a very rare animmal. I do know somethings about the generic run of the mill GS450, carbs, electrics, etc. But nothing about the automatic. From what I know of the Honda automatics of the 70's and early 80's carbs, and shocks were the same as the standard versions. So it should be the same with the Suzuki version as well. But let me do some digging for you I might be able to find you some info. I will send you a PM when I got something.

Thanks for the info. I did send a email to the guy with the factory manual, but have not heard back from him. I missed the ad thats cool. Just downloaded the owners manual thanks. All the Gs450 are pretty much the same. The suzukimatics are drive shaft a little different wiring and of course the transmission. I will post picks latter, my drifter is a fully dressed 1500 so the 450 feels like a minibike to me.
