In stripping down a 70s DT175, I find one (twin suspension version) of the suspension struts has a bent shaft preventing it from moving in and out. Are these repairable or can they be taken apart does anybody know?

AFAIK, they're NOT repairable...

That said, you could remove the springs and lay the shaft on a flat block and try and hammer it straighter. You may be able to hammer it back to the point where at least it won't bind, but I'm thinking it'll ruin the oil seal at least and you'll just lose damping in that one.

Depends if you just want it to be able to ride, or if you want it to WORK properly. Smile

Good luck with it.

Thanks- kinda guessed that was the response. I'll try the hammer option and see what happens... until I can locate a replacement.
