What is the best way to clean an engine. I have it off the frame and would like to clean it up pretty good. It is a 1969 CA160. Would be grateful for any tips. Also, does anyone know where I can find mufflers? Thanks:
Audie

How is the engine dirty? I mean, just dirty, dirt and grime, or just flat out grime. May be different methods for the type of dirty it is. Mine had many layers or dirt and grime and engine paint. I used parts washer solvent, diesel and wire brushes . Then I used paint stripper to get all the old paint off. It was very labor intensive, but it had to be done. I've never really cleaned something like this, and I really don't know if I used the right cleaner, but it did work for me. Hope that helps somewhat Very Happy .

siriusconinc.com I think they sell mufflers for a good price. Check them out.

You can try ohio cycle, and CMSNL.com. Another place to try is David Silver Spares.
