Back in 98 I bought a 77 TT500 that my cousin bought new in 77.The bike was really clean,
all original and ran like a raped ape.In 01 my now ex wife insisted that I sell the bike as she
needed new tires on her car-blahblahblah- Today I found that Bike right here in town and I paid
100 less than I sold it for-It needs a few things here and there but It is still in great shape...good things happen to folks when you least expect it......

Back in '98 it probably felt a lot easier to kick over than it does now. That won't be because it has gained compression eh! These were a bike that back in their day I was SO impressed with the characterful nature of the ride compared to it's actually sprightlier XR Honda competition.Have still yet to ride anything of the era that was a more involving experience than the XT/TT sohc variants.

I had a 1977 TT-500 for a couple of years but unfortunately I sold it. That thing would do power wheelies with out even trying.

Congrats on getting it back!!!

Gotta LOVE those thumpers. Never had the opportunity to own one, but rode a few back in the day. Amazing performance from a bike that was almost scary at low idle. Hope ya get it back to it's glory bud.

The ex-wife is gone and the TT500 is back. There is a morale to this story here somewhere. We both know what it is but ...this is a "friendly" forum. Razz I heard they romp but handle like crude. Have fun but be careful!!
