Mr. Blackstock,
Unless I've done something incorrectly in unzipping these files, they each appear to contain JPG files of individual pages. For all the trouble you went to, would it not have been a better idea to scan these pages into a single, searchable PDF document? Not to be an ingrate, but with over 100 pictures labeled only as page 01, page 02, etc, it would take forever to find any particular piece of information. Maybe this has some bearing on why the site administrator hasn't done anything with the files you sent him?

There were a few reasons why I scanned the files as stand alone pictures.

Firstly: I do not have a PDF file maker that can make the files small enough, I think I tried to do it and ended up with a file that was huge, and I wanted to make the .zip file small enough so most people could download it without blowing out their internet download limit, some countries charge a fair amount for access.

Secondly: I wanted the files to be printable on any printer, some PDF programs do interesting things with pictures inbedded in documents, most computer systems will offer varying degrees of quality when printing pictures, hence the .jpeg format.

Thirdly: the pages are numbered according to the index page, to find a specific page, go to the index, find the page number, and then double click the appropriate page to get what you want.

Fourthly: As these files are individual pictures, you can print off what you want, take it into the garage, and not worry about getting it filthy, and some PDF readers are a pain when paginating for a print job.

Fiftly: If you download the .zip files to your computer, why don't you put them into a PDF format, if you prefer them that way, as they are now in the public domain, you are welcome to do that.

In fact, if you think more people will download the manual if it is in PDF format, why not create a PDF file of the manual and upload it to the downloads page?

cheers

Because it wasn't my idea; it was yours, and I personally have no use for the material. I was simply offering my opinion. And I don't know about other parts of the world, but zip programs here do not handle ace files. I had to download a trial version of Winace to unzip your files, and it expires in 30 days. Given that I've never used ace compression before and may not again, I'm not going to pay for a program, just to view these files. Further, a scan of your jpg files into pdf format would yield files even less legible than the ones you've posted, so I don't see that I'd be providing a useful service.
Cheers to you, too.
