Finally....I got a chance to get the old 750 out for a ride tonight. Put the battery in, turned on the gas valve and hit the button....vroom. Oh yeah, it has been a long winter. A short 10 mile ride, but it ran perfectly and felt great to get it out again.
Think Spring! |

Spring fully starts in 6 days, enjoy it.
Make sure to check the air in your tires and change that oil even if it was new when you stored the bike last fall. _________________ Ray #1

Hey,
I put the battery in the 360, turned on the gas and kicked a couple times. Vroom. I went for a short ride with no problems.
I put the battery in the 1200 and it fired right up too. I took it for a little longer ride than the 360. I have a little stumble off of idle, then it is smooth. Don't know exactly what that is about.
It felt good to get back in the saddle and make some noise again.

| Try draining the float bowls and also perhaps put some methylated spirits in the gas tank, say 4-500 ml. Should take any water that has got into your system out through the combustion process.Chances are when you drain the float bowls you'll see some water come out first. It accumulates right under the main jet in many carbs so that you get it causing a miss just as the throttle needles begin to lift. |

Dave, sounds like you may have a pilot jet issue..a little cleaning out should take care of it..

I've got about 60 miles on the bikes so far this year, that's at least 500 less then last year by this time, but I'm planning some serious riding this weekend!

| I'm just starting to get psyched for a 1100 km(680 miles) 2 up blast the length of our South Island on Good Friday...and home again on the Tuesday. In between the bike will do a shorter day trip of 700 km.So the V-Strom is going to age by 3,000 km or so in under a week. Then it might be several months before it does much else. So it goes. |

I have not been out in a couple of weeks because of personal problems and we are supposed to have some rain tomorrow and Thrusday but, clear skies for this weekend is the forecast.
Taking my CBX out for a romp on Sunday, she has been minding her own business in the garage since I rode her last a couple of weeks ago and telling me it is time to ride. _________________ Ray #1

| ..and tonight I load my bike for the first big ride for some time.Tomorrow night will see an almost 2 hr run down to the Ferry that crosses the Strait between our two main islands. In the morning we tour down the east coast of the South Island for nearly 4 hrs then duck inland and head along the lee side of the Southern Alps and across the Pass then to Wanaka, a beautiful lake township surrounded by mountains. All going well should be about 9-10 hours riding that day. Can't wait. |

I am afraid I am feeling like I am 'all dressed up and no place to go!' _________________ _________________________________
