Went and got the wood pile prop loaded up and drug it home.. This was my first Big Bike and has been at my folk's. OMG, what was I thinking... Oh well, have something to tinker with.

Started life as a stock 1979 Suzuki GS1000L. I bought it in 1984. In 1988 I was hit by a car merging onto kellogg at 235. Pretty much destroyed bike. Put the bike back together with a few mods. 1085 Big Bore Kit. Flatslides, Accel Coils, Dyna Ignition, Air Shifter, Double step etc... The stock swing is a handbuilt 6" over.. Looks stock but as you can tell by the shock angles its there.. Last set of Tires were GoodYears... You do the math. Look up the last time Goodyear made Motorcycle tires... Been laying next to the wood pile since 1993...

Anywho. Looks like I got a project..... Let the Fabrication begin....

Been laying outdoors for 17 years with no carbs or airbox? I'm thinking that big bore kit was money down a rat hole. Motor is locked up, right?

I'm thinking it had a broken ring long before it got layed up. Years ago I aquired a 1150 TSCC engine off a running bike. Been wrapped up in mothballs..LOL Even though I prefer the 2 valve motors It may end up on this bike...

I seen this Buell custom at the show... This will be the look I'm going for. However, it will be in the Wes Cooley Livery Paint that I really like. White frame with the light Blue White and Black... May end up with a flyscreen too.

"Let me guess, you have never heard of Alphabet headers. Joe alphabet was a major manufacture of exhaust system in the 70's."

Never heard of them before and this was as much as I could find out. Have you got a picture of the headers? And what makes them "special"?

Regards

Tim

Yep, that be the guy... I bought the Alphabet from Kamakazi cycles in Wichita new. It had been on the shelf for almost 10 years then. Nothing special about it. Looks like a "Chants and Whines". I was just seeing if the group here were familiar with them..
The bottom is beat to snot and it was shortened a bit when the bike was wrecked and it wore a bit of the end of it down. I'll probably give it to a friend of mine that does a great job ressurecting headers. I'll have him section in new pipe and probably just hot coat it.

Made some headway yesterday on the GS... Why is it there is no one around when there is heavy lifting...

Couple local guys have expressed I should finish my Wes Cooley Formula 1 Replica and wait on this.... Makes me want to finish this first... Now if they would buy some parts for the Cooley I'd be more enthusiastic about finishing....
