I am currently rebuilding a cbx550f and wanting to turn it into a cafe racer-ish bike. After realising that the my tank is horrendously rusted and not fitting into my idea of cafe racer, I decided that I will start searching for a tank from a classic bike aka norton, triumph, bsa etc and fit it to the cbx.
I am eager to find out how many people are using a tank from a brand different to the motorbike itself, and how you go about selecting what tanks are a practical fit?
