Just thought I should let you know that sadly my good friend Don passed away on Monday 11th January six weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
I flew over to Ireland on the 21st December to make a surprise visit as we were told he would be lucky to make it to Christmas Day and due to heavy snow in the UK arrived there 6 hours late at midnight. It was great to see him and to say he was shocked to see me would be an understatement. He was reclined on his Lazy Boy and with eyes closed so I stood above him and called his name when he opened his eyes he froze for what seemed like a minute...he then said that he thought he had died and gone to heaven I hope I have at least another 35 years down here I replied. We sat there talking until 3:00am, it was great to catch up. The next morning we were talking from 8:00 to 10:00 then I had to say goodbye for the last time as my flight was at 13:00. That was very sad.
I asked his Wife to text me when he passed as I would get upset on the phone, she did at midday on the Monday three weeks from me setting off to see him. She said that the visit really lifted his spirits and that he seemed to gain at least a week which was good to hear.
I appreciate replies to my post from Rich (rplines), Ville, Z Grand, FalldownPhil, Steve Searles and apologise if you did reply and I have missed out your name but without reference to to the CBX World thread I simply won't know. Thanks not only for the posts but for the PM's and Instant Messages they really were appreciated.
Steve told me about Blue on this site and that is how I found you Guys here.

Goss,
I am truely so sorry for your loss. I know that it is hard but you did have the good fortune to go and see him recently. Remember, no one gets to leave here alive. Now, it is on with the wedding as Don wished. All the best to you and his family in this time of sorrow.
Very Best,

I appreciate all for your kind words. I had to Google "God's speed" as I have never crossed the phrase before now I know, thanks.
Pottered in my garage today and ended up fixing the central locking on my car and removing the cam cover on the Moto Martin, my mind was elsewhere all that time. Life goes on......

Goss, I'm sorry for your loss.. I truly can relate to your feelings, as my step-mom of 25 yrs was diagnosed w/ stage 4 cancer & has been taken off of chemotherapy.. Our family feels somewhat helpless in waiting to see what happens each day.. I hope your days ahead are truly lived to the fullest & life brings you many fullfilling feelings & happy events..
