I just picked up a '74 Kawasaki F11. The bike runs and runs well with no funny noises (other than the usual funny 2-stroke noises). The oil injection pump has been disconnected and the bike was running premix. I don't know how long it had been run like this, but I'd imagine it was like that for a while. The oil pump has two outputs, one that goes to the intake and one that goes into the motor. I imagine that it oils one or both of the main bearings, as my '78 Kaw KE250 enduro does the same. A quick check on the internet shows evidence of other people running F11s on pre-mix.
Does anyone know if the oil line to the mains just augments the traditional oiling method, or will the mains be starved for oil if you just run pre-mix (like a Kaw triple)?
