Hey guys,
I am new to the site and I am loving it!
I just got my first bike ever, it is a 1975 CB500T, and I am super excited!
Blue hooked me up with this little monster and I have just been having a blast working on it the past week. I have a question though that I can't seem to find anywhere.
The CB500's have two separate air boxes that hold the air filters, and I want to remove those and put cone style K&N filters there to help open up and clean up the look of the Bike. This is where my question is. There is what appears to be a third box in between those that has a hose coming out of it going to the top of the motor.
What is this box used for? And what do I need to do if I remove the air boxes as described above?

Jim, if that line you are talking about is a tube or hose that is garden hose size or smaller it's the crankcase breather from the valve train area, I just got a piece of hose and a pcv from the parts store for the 350, left the hose short, maybe 2" and used a little Mothers on it to give it a little bling, I kinda missed the point the other day when we talked, but I think I got it now.........if I don't send me a pm and I'll get over to the house and check it out. You can go down to Staceys and look at the CL anytime, you know! later blue
