Welcome Stu....Nice GT500...very nice. A little longer than the T500, lighter, bigger gas tank...radical change from the T500 to the "PEI" (pointless ignition system) and most important to me would be the front disc brake....braking on the T500 is not the greatest. I am no expert on the GT500 but the only major difference in the motor itself is the "PEI", air box may be slightly different and I believe the carbs are VM32SS and 75 T500 are VM32SC. Hope another GT500 owner that I know is a member of this forum and whom I consider an expert on the GT500, as well as other bikes, will chime in...then you may not even need this link that you may not have...... http://gt500.org.uk/

Here is the T500 in need of painting... and repolishing , took this pic right before Hurricane Ike....then stripped the bike of all easily damaged parts in case the weather got really bad....I am at 14' above sea level and a little surge water did get just inside the mufflers...no further....had that bike covered and protected better than myself....

"Paul Miller Motorcycles" offers re-painted and pinstriped body parts and probably has all the color matches down....sells a set like these and other colors from time to time for on ebay for.... I beleive around $600.00USD. This includes gas cap and oil level lens...every thing in the pic. I think he will have a persons existing set painted for a few hundred U.S. I am just a little concerned that with all the customers he has, there is a slight chance the parts may get "lost in the crowd'.....just a thought.
