over at www.cb900.com, I am a moderator, ray is my co-hort[meant to say hurt]

location posting brings more accountability to members, also brings a kin ship affect Rolling Eyes

and it saves on body bags

when i first joned here , i forgot to add locale

ray graciously [in his thoughtful . caring way]reminded me me of my faux pas Laughing

I agree, Its sort of like that over on the X site as well. The location makes a huge difference. I have been thinking about figuring out to make location mandatory for a long time. Now its time to do it. It could be the greatest contribution to mankind and biker sites ever done. BWAHAHAHA! Twisted Evil

I would like to not have reason to pound on newbies and a mandatory location posting would solve that.
Until then I will be very courteous and ask nicely if I do it at all. So far I have only said things to people from the the two dominant sites that know better than to post around me with no location posted. Wink

By golly I think I have done it. The hack the world has been waiting for. Highscore

Putting in your location is now a requirement to sign up for the site. The software will now kick you back to the sign up page and tell you to fill in your location info if you don’t fill in the information. Cool

Additionally anyone who has an existing account with no location won’t be able to update to their profile without filling in their location info. Cool

Pass that knowledge on to Glenn so he can install it on his cb1100f.net and the guys will stop crying like bitches when I assail offenders of the golden rule because I will not be hitting them up anymore.

Absolutely. I want to test it out here for a while just to make sure there are no bugs in the code and I also need to package it up so its easy to install (It will be a 2 minute Install once I'm done) but after that Glenn is more than welcome to it. Ill test it out on CBX World as well just to make sure everything is cool with it.

I think that has to be about the #1 most frequently asked for and oldest feature request of them all. It's actually more than just the location thing though; it's a complete overhaul of the member management system that significantly cuts down on the time it takes to do the day-to-day chores of running the site. Glenn will be all over this. Cool

Cheers,

Dave
