I am having a few issues with a '79 CB750K that I don't have the time/patience/knowledge to address.
If anybody in San Diego is available to help, please message me.
Thanks Smile

Bring it to Los Angeles and I will fix your bike.
You really need to stop posting about your DOHC Honda here and come over to the specific web site for your bike www.cb750c.com

Thanks for your offer, but 2 hr highway trip with a partially working bike is a bit too much.

> You really need to stop posting about your DOHC Honda here

I like it here because I can read about other bikes as well (thinking to get a 2 stroke triple).
In any case, I've tried to register to cb750c (same alias), but I didn't get the reply email to activate the account. How long does it take?

You signed on there and we answered your post.
You have a DOHC Honda and our site www.cb750c.com is for DOHC Honda's.
When you are refering to your DOHC Honda, come and see us so we can make your life easier.
When you do buy some little 2 stroke death machine, this is the site for it.
What exactly is wrong with your bike?
I am going to San Diego soon and can easily bring my tools which can handle any job except engine removal, I need a floor jack and someone with a strong back to help pull an engine.
I will not charge a traveling fee, only $65.00 an hour labor plus parts.

I saw it, thanks. I had to sign with another id/email, for some reason I didn't get the reply to activate the account when I signed with my usual one.

It sounds good. Engine removal won't be necessary (I hope Smile ).
Cylinder #1 is colder, even after riding for a while, and there is a clunking noise that I can't pinpoint (it comes and goes). Carbs need to be synch-d.
Let me know when you can make it, I am in Mira Mesa, right off I-15 (Mira Mesa Blvd).

There is a button for quotes that make it easy for you instead of copy & pasting every word I wrote.

If it is just a dirty carburator that is stopping fuel flow to the #1, that is a pretty easy job for me.
If it is a bad spark plug wire & cap, a bad coil connection or a bad coil, that is an easy job for you.
I do not think it is really anything other than a bad spark plug wire, cap & maybe a coil.
You can goto your local motorcycle shop and buy some spark plug wire and four spark plug caps {2 angled and 2 straight} then install them yourself, it is very easy.
Get some new spark plugs too, they are $2.00 a piece.
After all these years since these bikes were new, coils go bad like clock work and wires & caps definately go bad.
They are the easiest things to replace with even minimal tooling.
A pair of wire cutters and a 10mm socket is really all you need to change those items out.

Is there any way you can come up with a compression tester and get me some readings?

"little 2 stroke death machine"?? Shocked I thoroughly enjoy riding my 750cc triple-it has an exhaust note with character and is still fast & quick enough to put a bigass smile on my face, especially when it gets on the pipes and floats the front wheel while accelerating at a very rapid pace. I also love cleaning out the engine in front of white or light colored cars & SUV's, the teeny little oil spots smear real easy when their wipers get turned on. Twisted Evil

Yes Mark, a suicide bike is what your triple is and a very rude one at that.
No noise from any motorcycle sounds as rude as a 2 stroke and that is why they are not made in this country anymore.
It does not matter that they accelerate like rocket ships, they sound horrible and smell worse.

NO WAY.
Nothing is sweeter than the smell of the Castrol biolube and the sound of some expansion chambers.
And it's not true that they are not made anymore. Some CR Hondas, for example are 2 stroke.

I am breaking Mark's balls man, just fooling around about his scary fast Kwaka 3 cyl 2 stroke.
CR off road bikes are not 3 cylinder 2 stroke straight line suicide street machines.
Honda made the CRF off road motorcycles to appease the EPA and the other three have also done away with 2 strokes.
The noise is polluting and so is the exhaust.
In the case of the 2 stroke, they are history in the USA.
Other countries that do not care about pollution like Italy and China are still making 2 stroke street bikes but, I say "Ba Fongulo" to the 2 stroke because to me they are sickening to hear and even more nausiating to smell.

Castor oil is made from plants(castor bean plant), so it's environmentally friendly, kinda like bio-2-stroke oil...........Mr. Green The stuff leaves a lot of deposits in a 2-stroke engine but has the best film strength out there of any 2-stroke oils, synthetic or otherwise. I even have a 2-stroke rotary mower just to piss off CA's pantywaisted state government. Thumbsdown
My 750 triple will also keep up with my carbureted CBX no problem. Twisted Evil Ray really digs 2-strokes, he's just not used to the extra power is all. Laughing Laughing Laughing Highjack
Back on topic, did you get your bike figured out, gimgim? Keep us posted.

Where in California can you find good pasta?
No where outside of New York has good pasta and that means I have to live the rest of my life without. Rolling Eyes
