I have a 1972 T500 that I want to paint the same color as the first new bike I bought (and no longer have). It was a 1976 GT250A. I remember it being called "Candy Orange" but looking at the old sales flyer for the bike it says "candy gold 5". There was also a candy red, but mine was definatley an orange, brownish color. I did buy an old oil tank that looked right from fee-bay but when it arrived it was too red, (and aged). I think it was the red version. Any ideas? Anyone know of a new color that would match?
I know the 75 version was a gold color but that's not what I'm looking for - that one was a defiate yellow/gol color, and I know the 77 was RED with black side covers. I had friends with each and know that's not the colors either.

This is Candy Orange. It's for my AC100. My T305 is also Candy Orange. The color varies alot, depending on the light.

Well Steve, if you are still having a problem..been awhile since your post, add "Pearl Orange" to the mix of being the color on your the 72 GT250.....I won't elaborate on the paint ...whenever I start looking at info about the changes, slightly different 'close enough shades" ,etc. Suzuki used ....I get a headache. Here is one link for now that might give you an idea of what is going on....found it this morning. Even mentions stuff about the rare mirror situation I had brought up in an earlier post. Click on some of the highlights .." Ricks Best" kind of sums up the some of the mystery's. Here is hoping that someone else can add more a more difinitive answer....I myself was not too worried about matching the paint on my T500 because I had..yes had.. a side cover in pristine condition that I could have had the color matched to....I lost the side cover a short time ago, while riding I guess. I may now send the gas tank and oil tank to "Paul Miller Motorcycles" to have painted when I can afford it. Good Luck with your paint job.
