Hi,

New to the forum, but not to bikes. I've been riding for over 40 years and have owned numerous motorcycles. Most have been Hondas. Cars are another passion of mine. Enjoy working on just about anything mechanical.

Look forward to seeing other members rides & projects, and learning new things along the way.

Hi Ray. Welcome to VJMOG. There must be something in the water in MIchigan. Laughing It seems like half of our members are from Michigan, been riding for 40+ years, and love things mechanical. Very Happy Now could you explain the "K5" reference and maybe give us a picture or two.

.............Paul

My first bike was a 1971 Honda CB175K5. I recently purchased the same year/model to restore hopefully sometime this year. Here's a pic

I also have a 1975 CB750K5 that I recently restored

Thanks & I'll post some project pictures of the 750 later in the Honda section. Let me know if projects should go somewhere else.

Thanks again,
Ray

Welcome to the forum K5. BOTH of your bikes look great. The CB175 looks like it doesn't need much at all. Should make a real fun ride.

Ray
WOW its a small world.
Just yesterday(monday) my brother(Tim) was telling me about a VeeDub gathering he was at sunday in lawton where the guy had a real nice CB750.After talking to tim again today and comparing details it turns out your the guy.

That is unless there is another ray in lawton with a perfect 750,tricked out miata,K5 and a Honda rune in his barn.

I believe I've seen your 750 in Stockbridge this year.If its the one I am thinking of Im impressed with you craftsmanship, now get that baby on the road and eat up some miles.Ride em done Hide em. Cool

It is a small world Smile

I did meet Tim last Sunday at our VW Club meeting. Looks like he has some body shop experience by the looks of the work he's doing on his VW (Very Nice). I was at Stockbridge last year. Look forward to going this year also. Hope to fire the 750 sometime in February, just depends on work in the shop (currently doing a "resto-mod" on a 1966 HD FLH). I'd like to show the bike at the Gilmore show, so it'll have limited miles until then.

Steve Searles & Rick Youngblood were over last Saturday, along with other motorcycle enthusiasts. We had the first "workshop" get together. I was surprised how many made it out. Had a great time. Will probably do more of these in the future.

Look forward to meeting you and other club members.

I don't recall if I met you Ray but I DO remember your K5. What kind of "workshop" did you have?

The Gilmore is a great museum & show. Cheers, John

Hi John,

There's only been one "workshop", but they're for bike owners/enthusiasts to get together and talk about bikes, bring something to work on or just enjoy the company (very casual). As far as what kind of work; just about anything, but I would appreciate you take home what you bring.

If there's interest; I'll post some possible dates.

Thanks,
Ray

p.s. we have the same get together for the VW club. Everything from electric troubleshooting, sandblasting/painting, wheel balancing, engine repair, tune ups & brake work (including drum & rotor turning). There's no charge, just bring what parts you might need.
