If this is your first time trying to seal a tank and you are not sure of something. Ask! Saying this because way back in the day I screwed up quite a few things on my first bike, which ended costing me a lot of more money then if I just went and made a five minute phone call. A tank for your bike will cost you a lot of money, unless you get lucky and find one cheap somewhere.
The first thing I will suggest is to make sure the tank is clean of any gas residue and rust. Back in the day the stuff we use to use as a de-ruster was muriatic acid. Muriatic acid if left in the tank too long use to eat holes in your tank, along with the rust. Now there is a lot better stuff out there. One of the best things that I have ever used and perhaps one of the cheapest for removing old gas residue was always hot simple green and water. If not simple green there is other products out there that you can get at one of the dollar stores that works just as well. Trust me take everything slow and if you have any questions ask. Because do you really want to pay Paul Miller $600 for a gas tank?

Progress, without pics.. Sandblasted all of the rust on the fenders, shock covers ect. Also in a genius moment hung the bike from the ceiling in the garage. So easy to work on now..
