Hi everyone, I have a 1968 Suzuki T 200 and I´m restoring it but it seems to be completely impossible to find exhaust pipes new or used.
If anyone has some info on how to get a pair I would appreciate it.
Just keep watching eBay and Goggling around.
It may take a while, but there has to be something out there.
Also check with local motorcycle salvage yards and parts breakers.
If a whole bike comes up somewhere along the line, you might have to spring for it to get what you need. _________________ Fine tuning the proper daily ratio of Maxwell House to Bacardi 151.........

I may have a set but they will need to be rechromed. They are from the early 70's but may work. The exhausts for the smaller displacement Suzuki two strokes are very hard to find. I would also reccomend that you try calling Paul Miller Suzuki in Kensington, Connecticut. If anyone has something like that in good condition either used or NOS he would. Let me know how your search goes. Honestly, don't buy the first one that comes around, look around first and find the best one that you can get.

ploder,
Yikes.......just realized you are in ICELAND!!!
I now realize your chances of rummaging around in salvage yards and inquiring of parts breakers are almost non-existent in ICELAND.
My guess is what you are searching for is out there some place.
Check out MR. CHocko's suggestions.
Also there may be some UK guys that might have what you need.
Let me look around a bit for you.
Like what has been stated before.....be careful about jumping on the first thing you run across.
Regards,
Steve

Oh Man, an Iceland/Texas deal in the making......maybe.....???
Ain't the net great for us vintage bike guys????
Most of us would be up Big Shit Creek without a paddle if we didn't have the net.

The net makes it easy. Try doing it in the preinternet days. Where if you want to find something you either go to the Swap meet and try to find it or go and get some contacts. In those days going to the Swap meet was an experience. Lots of interesting personalities. Today it is just the same cookie cutter vendors who are Mike Wolfe wannabes. Some of the old personalities are still around, because I know them. But what is scaring me is that they are telling me that I am becoming or at least my cat is becoming one of the new personalities. But still it is not the same like it was back in the 70's and 80's.

OK......I been trying to think of ways to help our new member ploder out of his dilemma, but first I had to educate myself a bit.
I knew absolutely zip, nada, zero about this model.
He states it is a T200 and he is correct, but..........here in the US this model was known as the X5 Invader.
So, I have been discovering different things based on what I search for in Google and elsewhere.
Another model, the TC200 or Stingray, had upswept pipes i.e. "scrambler" fashion and looks like it had a different tank scheme.
I found after looking at multiple international eBay sites searching for "T200" and "X5 Invader" separately, there are far and away more parts listed currently on US eBay than anywhere else. Unfortunately, there are not huge numbers of listings even on US eBay. Today searching using "Suzuki T 200" I get 432 part listings. Using "Suzuki X5 Invader" I get 48 results. I guess part of the problem unlike the bizillions of Hondas that were made, some of these Suzuki models were a bit scarce even when they were being marketed. Low production numbers mean NOS parts inventories will be much less than we typically see in Hondas and Yamahas. That means when you are trying to resurrect something 45 or so years down the road, the searching for needed parts can last a long, long time......especially when you live in Iceland. Its not like he can go rummage around in three or four mc salvage yards within an hour of his house with thousands of bikes being parted out.
I've sent out inquires to some VJMC members who advertise vintage parts and I am awaiting replies. Also I have inquired of a few other sources hoping to scare something up.
Since ploder explained to me, he has a friend with two (2) T200s. I might suggest a set of upswept TC200 pipes if they pop somewhere. Not totally correct for the model, but it might allow the machine to be ridden if they could be adapted. Also, I had the thought that something like some RD 200 pipes might be able to be adapted with a little machine work and fabrication. I'm sure someone here could probably provide some rough dimensions of RD 200 pipes to check out the theory before a potential purchase. All this is just a thought considering this looks like a tough search.
fiustudent22's pic of one of his T200s has about the best shot of exhaust pipes I have been able to find:
Hope all this helps in some way. I'll keep digging around to see if I can turn up something. If any of you other forum members suddenly has a "eureka moment" about where a T200/X5 Invader bikes or pipes might be, please let ploder know.
Regards,

Wish it was that easy ZTNOO! No tabs welded on frame to mount exhaust, side cover won't mount because of the high pipes, and kickstart won't work for same reason. Oil filler tube disappears behind the high pipes also! Be patient; pipes appear time to time on Ebay. Some T20 parts will interchange, and a few more can be "modified" to fit.

This I can tell you the same brake light was used on all Suzuki models in the 60's. Now this only applies to their small displacement bikes. The X-6 Hustler and the T500 Titan or Cobra had a different style. So I do have a Suzuki brake light that would work. IF anyone is wondering I do have a Hustler brake light with mount.

Björgvin,
Hey, no problem....it has been stimulating to explore this today.
Don't give up on this, as it likely will take some time.
I still haven't heard from most of my inquiries, so I'm hoping to come up with something for you.
Thanks to mopehead440 for his commentary. When one is in a situation like Björgvin, I don't think we realize how lucky we are here in The States to come up with what we need, one way or another. I don't think we can imagine his difficulties nailing parts down. I explored the T20 (250cc) suggestion and that might be a possibility. I think we'd need dimensions on T20 parts to know if that is a reasonable option. But here is what I found on US eBay for T20 pipes. Pricing is all over the map on these by the same seller. Some are obviously much better than others.
