This is my Honda MB5, the idea I had in 1985 was to build the best MB5 special, and 20 years later the dream came true, unlike the standard MB5, this beauty has twin disc, Pro-link monoshock, 70cc borekit, Giuliari 2/4 seat, Gianelli exhaust, Honda H100 oil pump and clocks, Honda MBX80 carb and fairing, and is running at just over 60MPH, I have a 6 speed engine with a better bore kit to go in soon, looking to do over 70MPH.

Send me a message I might be able to help you out. I got a YDS3 rear fender, not sure if it will fit. It looks like it will. I also have lots of NOS Yamaha parts. I seriously love the moped.

The sports mopeds came about as a bit of an oddity, in the days when motorcycles were used more for transport and not toys, your average 50s/60s mopeds were your basic step through type, the Italians were doing small motorcycles bet they were hard to import, then the Japanese started to export small motorcycles to the UK, because they were cheap, reliable etc, Then a law was introduced so at 16 you could only ride a moped (49cc) with pedals that could propel the bike, So the Japanese adapted thier small motorcycles with 49cc engines and working pedals to atract the new youth, then the sports moped world whent mad, with every Tom, Dick and Harry producing peddaled sports mopeds, these mopeds were unrestricted with top speeds of around 50MPH, but the tin gods in government thought that 16ers could not handle the speed and power of these sports mopeds, so a new moped law was passed which restricted them to 30MPH but without pedals, and in the UK at present, for over 40s are trying to relive thier youth and buying the mopeds that they had back in the 70s/80s, with restored Yamaha FS1E's selling between 2-5 thousand pounds, so if you do not mind, I would like to introduce you all to the sports moped world and post a few great pictures of bikes that started for many a love of motorcycles.

Wait a minute I did see one of those in the states for sale at a Swap meet. Honda made one in the early 80's. It was sold here in the states for maybe 2-3 years. I happen to have a New cylinder for one of those things if you do know anyone looking.
