Ok so here is the update. My father in law of whom I got the bike off of, told me that the carb was off a 1979. So I went to my local dirt bike shop, and was actually able to order the rubber boot brand new for it. So we will see what happens when it comes in.

Ok so I tried the stater fluid today and it started right up after 3 kicks. There is just two problems though. 1. It only runs for about 30-45 sec then dies and I can't get it to start again unless I spray stater fluid in the intake. 2. It is leaking between the head and the intake. is there a gasket that goes in between that prevents this?

If your connector between the head has an o ring indentation then yes, you'll need one. I think I posted the number here. Original connectors did not, but superseded ones do, even though Suzuki apparently never bothered to mention that they were needed. I figured out the number by looking at what other models used that same connector & noting the o ring's presence.

There is no indentation for a o-ring. Should I just keep tightening it up till it stop leaking? I thought it was tight already.

If you over tighten you can strip the cylinder, which is aluminum and will happen easily. Are you SURE there is a leak at the junction between the connector and head? How did you determine this? |

No 77-79 TS185 I know of uses a gasket. Can you take a pic of your carb and the intake boot/connector? I'd like to see the part that mates with the cylinder and a side view as well. Might help.
