Does anyone have any experience with transferring GT 380/550 frame and body parts to the T500 Titan, or the reverse (using a T500 engine in the GT380 or GT550 frame)?

I've searched the threads here and haven't come up with much. I just got to wondering if GT forks, fenders, headlight, etc., etc., would work on a T-500 frame in serious need of cosmetic attention or if its possible to graph a T500 engine into a GT frame in need of a motor.

Thanks to any and all who respond.

If you need t500 parts I have 3 spare parts bikes in NC. engines fenders pipes wheels etc for a fair price. I don't know for sure if they're interchangeable but I'm sure some parts are.

i think the only differences are that gt500's had a bigger tank, electronic ignition and a front disk brake. So your brake assembly and possibly fender aren't interchangable, ignition isn't, and gas tank and seat aren't. You may be better off trying to find a t500 if those parts are ones you need.

Turns out I bought a bike with much more rust on the pretty parts than I realized. I thnk I've got a good motor (good compression, spark and transmission) but the pretty chrome parts (headlight, front and rear fender, exhaust, etc. will either have to be replaced or rechromed in order for me to restore the bike to the level I'd like.

Thus my original question since it may be easier to find GT380/550 bikes in good shape than T500s for a little parts swapping.

I'm interested in what you've got , especially if you have chrome frame and body parts that are in bolt-on condition?

Thanks for your offer on parts I might need. I'm sure we'll be in touch.

A lot of the GT500 parts will swap over to the T500. But if you're wanting to swap GT380 and GT550 parts onto it, good luck.
