Stu

What is that, the cam chain guide?
If so yes, I have no choice because the old one got eaten up by the chain.

Being as you're going 3rd over bore , polishing those domes can't hurt , too much .

Of course , if you get too much out , it might need rejetting , but I doubt it .

I was thinking it might need a rejet because of the 3rd over bore but, I will wait to see how she runs 1st.
The 4 cylinder engine KeiHin carbs don't need rejetting when going from 901cc to 985cc, that blew my mind.
CV carbs are quite forgiving.

Ray,
Have you looked into getting another head from a bone yard? I've got a yard local to me that has dozens of those engines. Let me know if you need an assist.

I checked and there are no heads or any other 350 parts local.
There really isn't any money for me to buy another head anyway.

There was a lot of caked on metalic shit in the oil filter on the 1st oil change and there was a lot of junk that came out when I drained the original single quart of oil out on that 1st change.
You know the size and shape of the drain plug as a little bowl right? Mine was not cupped when I took it out the 1st time, it was caked with metal shavings and mung that was 38 years old.
When I drained the oil the other day, there was a little bit of metal in the oil but, not as bad as the 1st time I drained the oil in that engine.

I took the bottom end apart today and found some bad shit in there.
There was all the pieces of the cam chain guide that were missing were under the oil pump. I am pretty sure that is what was inhibiting the oil flow and caused all the damage to my piston & cylinder wall.

The circlip for the oil filter was broken and half hanging out, so I need a new circlip
CIRCLIP (45MM)
90604-292-000

My countershaft seal is sagged and the spring was coming off the inside.

I am done for today, I need to take care of a few things to get her ready for reassembly like get the cylinders bored and score another circlip for the oil filter.

What started as a top end over haul ended up being a complete engine tear down, clean, bore and rebuild.
My cylinders are being bored right now and will be here tonight.
The bottom end is almost done.

The old cam chain is only about 2mm longer than the new one but, it flops around like a noodle.

The old and new chains are DID chains, I hope the new one is not of the same shitty quality Honda uses for 79-83 DOHC Honda replacement cam chains.
If you look, you can see the master in the old chain.

The new chain went over the crankshaft that was removed from the case 1st so a master link is not required.

That's a product of Happy Hands At Home. A horribly sloppy job using incorrect tools. Nothing like that ever came off Honda's assembly line. They used endless chains, just like your new one.
