Ted Nugent. The Motor City Madman can incinerate a set of strings on his guitar..........not to mention he's a strong advocate of hunting & outdoors living and a vocal proponent of the right to keep & bear arms!!! _________________

i have issues with some players...... like clapton. to me eric clapton is one of the most boring guitar players of all time. he is one of the best technical players there ever was, but he has no soul and he bores the hell out of me to listen to him play. !
Wow, Rob that seems harsh. The guy actually kicked ass on the beatles white album (While my Guitar Gently Weeps), was the driving force of Cream, (White Room, Sunshine of your love, Crossroads) not to mention (Layla) Derek & the Dominoes) and even had a stint with the Yardbirds which you mention later in your post.
Some of his "experiments" did bore me with the reggae and the old blues stuff but he just like to change it up like anyone might after 40 something years of stuff.
Rolling Stone named him #4 all time. I think he is top three, take his top ten rips against anybody! JMHO _________________

Yeah, Carlos Santana is absolutely up there. I went to Cal Jam II many years ago. As far as I was concerned Santana was the best of the lot. Aerosmith was just loud and sounded bad, I think they damaged my hearing. Santana was just awesome, still is. I'm awfully fond of Aerosmith nowadays too. _________________

as a session man, clapton was on a lot of albums from the mid to late 60s. it kinda took me by suprise when i found out all the work he had out in that capacity. it made good use of his technical skill with the guitar. but by the time the early 70s came along, his skills had taken a back seat to his personal life. i have included in my collection a lot of the early stuff he did, but mostly as a reference, not as something i would play to enjoy listening to.
anyone ever hear the story about the time ted nugent was to play a show in detroit with the MC5 as his opening act. he refused to come out and play after they were done because he didnt think he could compete with the show they put on. there is a lot of stuff nugent did that i like. i think his early amboy dukes stuff is what legends are made of. and 'stranglehold' is one of my all time favorite songs. i dont like his politics or the 'right wing nazi' he has turned into. i dont picture him playing golf with alice cooper and charlton heston, but that seems to be the way he has gone in the last 10 or 20 years. oh well. _________________ rob tabish

Ted is very fast for sure. And his politics are far from naziism. He is right about his diet too. No packaged meat byproducts filled with chemicals and botchalism. Kill it and grill it. Some poor city folks just don't understand where food comes from.(think it comes from the grocery store! HAHA) I'm glad he is outspoken. Not enough volume in the outdoor, hunt, fish, political arena. Ted rocks and rolls. _________________ 79 CBX

Where is Frank Zappa's name, has anyone mentioned him?
Zappa was truly brilliant, on a vast scale. But his genius was in his collaborations, his abilities to bring out magnificence from those around him. _________________ Born to be mild!
