it's supposed to be straight?? I can't tell in any of the parts diagrams I can find, but it sure seems to be based on the description and some google searching. The seal that it slides through was right at the bend, so of course it is a little deformed too. I bought these on ebay....hopefully they are what I need. One curious thing is that the parts list shows it as needing two, but I only see one.

Thanks guys!

The rod is sticking out just to the right of the flywheel:

Here's the rod (it just slides in and out:

And here's what I bought:

What year? '68 parts fiche only lists one.

I don't have access to the '67 fiche, but I doubt it's different in that respect.

^^^+1 I'm not familiar with your bike, but I have seen quite a few with 2 pushrods with a ball bearing in between. The one you have does look a little short.
One question though, how did it get bent like that?!

I have been pondering that also. Wonder if that is a salvage motor (Stamped K10...shown in previous pics) not K15? .......could have just installed a K10 upper case at the factory I suppose. If salvage, maybe it got bent in the salvage yard with no sidecase cover on it. I dunno Confused

EDIT: You had mentioned that the preivous owner said he had taken the motor apart....Maybe dropped it on the frame or something.

Well, the motor number matches the number plate which matches the frame number. I'm pretty sure the guy I bought it from just pulled the top end and didn't delve much farther. I guess well see when I get it all back together. Thanks guys!

On the two pc. push rod....you may be able to get the second one out with a small telescoping magnet. It runs through the middle of the countershaft so there is no way it will 'drop' down anywhere. Take note of which end comes out first on both. If like other Suzuki's I am familiar with, one end of the rod (or both rods) may be made slightly rounded. I have never seen a steel ball between Suzuki push rods I have messed with and I did not see one on the fiche for your bike.....they just butt together. The second rod might...just might.... slide out if you tilt the motor that you have out.

thanks dor.....I didn't see anything when I shone my light down there, and the engine has been sitting level on my bench ever since I pulled the cover off, so I don't think I've lost anything. I'll try the magnet trick though and see what shape the other rod is in if I can.

My plan is to fix any obvious things (like this) as I get it all back together then try to fire her up. Then I'll start round two if need be. Very Happy

Sorry, I misunderstood. Thought you were asking about the oil seal. Rolling Eyes Yes, there are two of those push rods. To get the other one out, you might be able to do it as dor says. But you'll probably have to pull the clutch cover and remove the pressure plate. I'm having trouble imagining what a person would have to do to bend that clutch pushrod like that Shocked
